Sikka Rhymes is confident of a positive outcome in his mentor’s case.
As fans nervously anticipate the verdict in Vybz Kartel’s murder appeal trial, at least one family member is expressing confidence.
Sikka Rhymes says he is confident of a positive outcome in Vybz Kartel’s appeal trial, following months of deliberation.
“I am feeling strong, up, and positive about everything, and I am just waiting on that special day to come, enuh,” Sikka Rymes said.
According to the young deejay, Vybz Kartel is more than a mentor to him, and he can’t wait to celebrate his freedom.
“I look at him [Vybz Kartel] as more than a mentor. He is a father, uncle, brother, and everything in one. We may not have any celebrations planned at the moment, but I can tell you it’s going to be a day all of us come together as one and just bare laughter,” he said.
Sikka Rhymes, who was shot and injured in December, says he has not visited Kartel since being released from hospital. However, he remains very optomistic.
Vybz Kartel, who turns 44 tomorrow, has now spent the last eight years behind bars.
Last December the Court of Appeal indicated that a ruling would be handed down in short order, and was in an “advanced stage.”
Earlier this week Kartel’s attorneys indicated that they are currently awaiting notification.
“We have not received the call as yet. Usually, the registrar would call the office to inform us that judgment will be handed down in three days, but we haven’t received that call as yet,” Bert Samuels told The Star.
Vybz Kartel is currently serving a mandatory life sentence for the 2011 murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.
